During the COVID-19 Quarantine,
BE A LIGHT - FIND A LIGHT
On January 19, 2017 cross the country, members of the theater community - from Broadway to regional theaters to high schools and colleges and community theaters - came together to launch The Ghostlight Project. On that day people joined in a collective, simultaneous action, together creating “light” for challenging times. Inspired by the tradition of leaving a "ghost light" on in a darkened theater, artists and communities made a pledge to stand for and protect the values of inclusion, participation, and compassion for everyone. The Ghostlight Project aimed to activate a network of people across the country working to support vulnerable communities.
As our nation grapples with the effects of COVID-19, we are reminded that the world needs the arts now more than ever. The mission of the Ghostlight Project to BE A LIGHT in dark times is felt more deeply and more acutely today. Peppermint Creek Theatre's mission has remained focused on creating dialogue and a safe haven for every idea for more than 20 years, and we continue to strive to be part, and create, a theatre community that lifts people up and celebrates the joy in our lives.
To that end, PCTC is dedicating this space to the many offerings that are out there locally, nationally, and globally for people to connect with the arts, and to continue to experience the performing arts as a source for joy, discussion, and above all, LIGHT. Below you'll find a lists of people, organizations, and resources to access the arts during our nationwide quarantine. We will update the list frequently. And if you have an idea or feel something should be added to the list, get in touch with us!
We look forward to meeting with you in the theatre again soon. Until then, we hope you'll find a resource below that brings you LIGHT.
