Summary:
A musical look at the courage it takes to follow your dreams, TICK, TICK... BOOM! is Jonathan Larson's autobiographical tale of a young composer on the brink of turning 30 and falling into oblivion. His girlfriend wants to get married and move out of the city (TICK,), his best friend is making big bucks on Madison Avenue (TICK...), yet Jon is still waiting on tables and trying to write the great American musical (BOOM!). Containing fourteen songs, ten characters, three actors, and a band, TICK, TICK... BOOM! takes you on the playwright/composer's journey that led to the Broadway blockbuster, RENT. This musical is filled with instantly appealing melodies, and a unique blend of pop and musical theatre styles. Everyone, regardless of age, will love this youthful, endearing, and thoughtful piece, and will embrace the universal ideal of holding onto your dreams through life's most difficult challenges.

Cast:
Jocelyn Scofield (Susan) - This is Jocelyn’s first production with the Peppermint Creek Theatre Company. She is very excited to be working with such a forward-thinking theatre company and cast. Some of Jocelyn’s past roles include Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady, Nellie Forbush in South Pacific, and Cinderella in Into the Woods.

For the past three years, Jocelyn Scofield has been touring the United States as a singer/songwriter. She has produced and independently released two albums, This Life and Unplugged & Unorganized (currently available on ITunes). She has co-written and worked with numerous Grammy-Award winning songwriters, received three ASCAPlus Awards, and has had a song recorded by Disney Records. Sam Zikakis (Jon) – Sam is excited to be in his third production with Peppermint Creek Theatre Company. Sam is a junior at Michigan State University studying animal psychology and zoo and aquarium management. He would like to thank the rest of the cast and his director Chad for putting on such a great show. He would also like to thank his parents and his brother Alex for all their inspiration. Enjoy!

Drew Fifield (Michael) – Drew graduated from UM-Flint with a BA in Theatre. He moved to the Lansing area this summer and has been fortunate enough to be involved in the Renegade Theatre Festival, Boarshead Dark Nights Series and now PCTC. Favorite roles include Ross in Macbeth at the Michigan Shakespeare Festival, John in John and Jen and Boy in Henry V at UM-Flint.
